Promoting Recreation Access for All
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) Foundation was founded in 1983 with the goal of enhancing the quality of park facilities and recreation programs of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. Led by an all-volunteer group of community members, the H.A.R.D Foundation raises much needed funds to ensure access to facilities and programs for all community members.
The H.A.R.D. Foundation believes that investing in community parks and recreation programs is vital to the overall health of a community. The pandemic has shown us how important it is for all of us to get outside and #PlayHARD – but the benefits of getting outside are even greater for children. Outdoor play fosters a child’s intellectual, emotional, and physical development. Playing outside provides numerous opportunities for discovery, creativity, problem-solving, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
The H.A.R.D. Foundation is committed to promoting recreation access for all, family and community health, and the future of parks and recreation in the greater Hayward area.
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. Tax ID #94-2901655.
